Dave Green directing Wile E. Coyote movie
-----------------------------------------
According to Variety, Warner Bros. has chosen Earth to Echo
and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows director
Dave Green to helm the upcoming Coyote Vs. Acme, featuring
Wile E. Coyote.

Siblings and creative partners Jon and Josh Silberman are
writing Coyote vs. Acme. The Silberman brothers previously
wrote for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Bordertown and
Deadbeat before landing their own CBS series Living
Biblically. A director hasn't been chosen yet, and it's
currently unknown if Coyote vs. Acme will be fully animated
or a mixture of animation and live-action.

As teased by the title, the film will feature Wile E. Coyote
stepping aside from his lifelong pursuit of the Roadrunner
to get his revenge on Acme. Within the various Wile E.
Coyote and Roadrunner shorts, the Coyote's gadgets always
came from Acme. Inevitably, the gadgets have always failed,
leaving the Coyote humiliated and injured. Now, it's time
for some payback.

Back in 2014, Steve Carell was attached to star in an Acme
themed movie that would take place within the world of the
Looney Tunes. That project doesn't appear to be going
forward, but Carell would probably still be a very funny
foil for the Coyote. None of the Looney Tunes have had
their own film since Joe Dante's Looney Tunes: Back in
Action in 2003.

The next question is simple: should the Coyote speak?
Wile E. Coyote rarely had any vocalizations when he was
with the Road Runner. However, he was extremely loquacious
and eloquent when paired with other Looney Tunes characters.

Someone had better be, to turn Chuck Jones's perfect hors d'oeuvres into
a feature-length meal...
